VeilWalker is the latest entry in our studio's game development history—and our first planned release on Steam! VeilWalker is a roguelite/RPG card game where players choose their character to conquer the Veil, which has corrupted the land and turned the world outside their protective city walls hostile.

⚔️ Gameplay Additions & Revisions

  • Added The Hub! This new area will allow the player to upgrade their gear, cards & hire more heros! Including an area to start a daily / challenge run. Players will additionally have a city gate where they are able to leave and start their run. Hub is not fully working yet, only the city gate is.

  • Added and created a tutorial section for the game.

  • Added the new attacks for the enemies in the whispering woods environment.

  • Introduced some balancing acts specifically reducing total enemy health.

  • Revised the momentum mechanic for the warrior.

  • Added a random selection of levels to be shown during any chosen move / encounter.

  • Added the new animations for the enemies of the whispering woods.

  • Pressing the map icon at the top of the UI bar allows the players see the progress of their run.

  • Balanced enemy damage values and attacks to make the current build more beatable.

🎨 Art & Environment Additions

  • Created 3~4 more variation levels of the Whispering Woods.

  • All default event art has been swapped out with in-house illustrations.

  • Animations for enemies has been created.

  • More environmental pixel art assets created.

  • Hub art completed for the current build.

  • Art for the traveling merchant has been created.

  • added social media redirects images onto the main menu.

  • added discord icon redirects image onto the main menu.

  • added logo & website redirect onto the main menu.

  • added an effect to the warriors card when they are affected by his momentum system. This makes it easier to see the changes or which card is affected by his unique mechanic

  • added a camera zoom effect for when the player attacks the enemy. Based on the damage amount the camera motion is affected more dramatically.

  • for testing purposes we implemented a constraint for the main camera to restrict it to only 16:9 since we do not have widescreen support yet.

  • Rogue realm logo splash added to the game.

  • Unreal engine logo splash added to the game.



🐛 Bug Fixes & Patches

  • Apparently The Math For The Cards Are Not Correctly Calculating. We fixed this for many cards & it should not be an issue now.

  • Elite Enemies Are Appearing Outside Of Elite Encounter Zones.

  • Duplicate cards showing up as rewards after beating enemies fixed.

  • Death animation not appearing properly after defeat screen showing.

  • Multiple Enemies Spawning Above Max Enemy Slots During Elite Enemy Encounter.

  • Cards not doing the correct damage and effects on the enemies.

  • Fix the FPS drop on WhisperingWoodsLevelTwo.

  • Fixed gold amount not showing in the shop when player visits the traveling merchant.
